Why You Can’t Transfer Music from iPhone to iTunes

Why You Can’t Transfer Music from iPhone to iTunes

If you aren’t entirely sure why you cannot transfer music from iPhone to iTunes, here are some of the common reasons that iTunes users experience this problem.

You can only transfer purchased music that you bought from iTunes. When you try to transfer music that you downloaded or purchased from somewhere else, iTunes won’t allow you to transfer it.

iTunes doesn’t allow two-way transfer. This means that while you can transfer files from iTunes to iPhone, it won’t always work when you try to transfer your music from iPhone to iTunes.

The most common reason for this problem occurring is that iTunes is full of bugs and glitches. The chances are that when you try to transfer music from iPhone to iTunes, iTunes will run into an unknown error.

How to Backup iPhone on Mac

1. How to Backup iPhone on Mac Using iTunes

Follow these simple steps to back up your iPhone to iTunes.

Step 1: On your Mac, launch iTunes. If you see a message asking you to Trust this Device, follow the on-screen instructions to comply. If your passcode is requested, enter it to continue.

Step 2: Select the iPhone when it appears in iTunes.

Step 3: If you want to encrypt the data in the backup, select the box marked "Encrypt iPhone Backup" and create a password. Otherwise just click "Back Up Now."

Step 4: When the process is complete, you can check the recently created backup under Summary. Look under Latest Backup to find the date and time.

2. How to Backup iPhone on Mac Using iCloud

To back up your device via iCloud, follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Connect the device to a Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Go to Settings > Your Name and then tap "iCloud." If you are using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings and scroll down to find "iCloud."

Step 3: Tap "iCloud Backup" or "Backup" if you are on an earlier version of iOS. Ensure "iCloud Backup" is turned on.

Step 4: Now just tap "Back Up Now" and keep the device connected to the Wi-Fi network until the process is complete.

Keep in mind that you can also schedule an automatic iCloud backup, follow these simple steps to do that.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup or Settings > iCloud > Backup for earlier versions of iOS to ensure "iCloud Backup" is turned on.

Step 2: Connect the device to a power source and a Wi-Fi network.

Step 3: Make sure that the device's screen is locked and that you have adequate storage space in iCloud. The backup process should begin automatically.
3. Backup and Restore iPhone on Mac Selectively Using 3rd-Party Tool

While iTunes and iCloud offer a great solution to backup and restore your iPhone, they both do have a few shortcomings. One of the most prominent of these shortcomings is the fact that you can't really view the contents of the backup and are unable to partially restore data.

If you want a solution that offers you more flexibility, which is to selectively backup and restore the data on your iPhone, iMyFone iTransor (iOS 12 supported) is the tool for you.

The program can be used to back up all the data on your device or create a partial backup of the iPhone's data. It is also quite useful when you want to restore the backup to your device, allowing you to even restore just a section of the data such as contacts, messages, WhatsApp messages and WeChat messages from iMyFone backup/iTunes backup/iCloud backup.

Here's how to use iMyFone iTransor to create a backup of your device and restore the backup. But before we begin, download and install the program to your computer.Sponsor ads:

How to Back Up and Restore Messages on iPhone 2019

How to Back Up and Restore Messages on iPhone 2019
Back Up and Restore Messages on iPhone with iCloud

The first method that most people turn to is backing up and restoring their messages with iCloud. This is a fairly straightforward method, though it doesn't give you that much control. It also requires a network connection for it to work. Here is how you do it:
How to Back Up Messages on iPhone With iCloud

(1) Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on and your network is in working order.

(2) Make sure your device is connected to power.

(3) Go to Settings on your iPhone, then tap iCloud, then Backup. (If it is iOS 7 or earlier, then it will say Storage & Backup.)

(4) Turn the iCloud Backup function on if it isn't already.

(5) Tap where it says Back Up Now.

(6) Wait as your device begins to back itself up to the cloud. Do not turn off your phone during this process and do not disconnect from your network.

(7) After the process is done, your messages, along with your other data, should be backed up on iCloud.

To access this backup, you will need to restore it. You can find out how to do this below:
How to Restore Messages on iPhone with iCloud

(1) When you first turn on a new phone or a phone that has been reset (you must do this to restore from backup), you will get a greeting on the screen and will see three options. One of the options will be Restore From iCloud Backup.

(2) Sign into your account with your Apple ID.

(3) You will see a list of backups at different times. Choose the one that you want to back up from.

(4) Now you just wait. Your phone will restore itself from the backup.

Back Up and Restore Messages on iPhone with iTunes

The next method for backing up and restoring messages on iPhone is also an official Apple method. All you need is iTunes and you can back up and restore all of your data (including your messages) at once.
How to Back Up Messages on iPhone with iTunes

(1) Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes.

(2) iTunes might ask for you to trust the computer. If so, confirm this with the on-screen instructions.

(3) In iTunes, click where you see your iPhone listed as a device.

(4) Click "Back Up Now" on the summary page.

(5) Wait while your device is backed up.

(6) You can now check if everything was backed up correctly by going to Edit, then clicking Preferences, and then Devices. You should see your backup listed there, along with the date and time that you backed it up.

How to Restore Messages on iPhone with iTunes

(1) Go to the computer where you backed up your iPhone and launch iTunes.

(2) Connect your device to the computer.

(3) Click where you see your device listed on iTunes.

(4) In your device's Summary page, choose Restore Backup in iTunes.

(5) Assuming that your iOS version is fairly up to date, you should be able to choose a backup to restore from.

(6) Click Restore.

(7) Now you can just wait until your device's backup is restored. Absolutely do not disconnect your device from your computer until it is completely finished.

(8) Your device will restart. Keep it connected because it will sync with iTunes. After the sync is done, then you can disconnect your iPhone.

Back Up & Restore Messages on iPhone with More Choices

Have you heard of iMyFone iTransor? Well, this is basically software that allows you to manage your backups for your iPhone. It gives you more control and convenience than Apple's official methods.

Fix iCloud Notes Not Syncing 2019

1. Basic Troubleshooting Methods
01 Your device is storing your notes locally

It is possible that your device is storing your notes locally, and not uploading them to iCloud. Go to settings > Notes > Default Account. And check if you choose "On My iPhone" or "iCloud" option. If "On My iPhone" is enabled, that means all the noted created on your iPhone will only stay on your iPhone. Notes in your iCloud will not be downloaded to your phone either. If you want to be able to send out and receive notes using iCloud, choose "iCloud" simply. Once you do that, your device will sync with iCloud.

02 Your devices have different iOS versions

For example, if the iOS on your phone is updated to iOS 11 and the one on your Mac isn't the latest, there could be inconsistencies with how they view your notes because for your Mac, there might be some features it won't be able to recognize. It is important that all your iOS versions are always up to date. Most of the time, your phone sends you notifications or updates about this. If you somehow miss them, you can check once in a while by yourself. To do this, go to Settings and click on General then Software Updates. It there is a new iOS version, it will be shown there and you can update from there. For your Mac, go to the Mac App Store and check the Updates tab.

03 You are not signed into your iCloud account on all your devices

This may seem silly but you might not be signed into your iCloud account on one of your devices. Using the same Apple ID doesn't mean your phone automatically connects to your iCloud. This is very possible especially if you set up your phone using iTunes not iCloud backup. Check to be sure you are signed into your iCloud account.

To check using your phone, go to Settings and tap on iCloud. To check using a Mac, go to System Preferences and click on iCloud. If you are not logged in, put in the required details and set up your iCloud on your device.

04 Notes syncing may be turned off on your iCloud

The problem could be from your iCloud account itself. If note syncing is turned off on your iCloud, there is no way any note saved on your devices will be sent to iCloud. To turn this feature off, go to Settings and click on iCloud. Scroll down to the Notes option. If it is turned off, tap the toggle to turn it on. The syncing process usually takes a while so remember to go back to be sure it synced successfully.

2. Force Restart Your Device

If you have checked and none of the situations presented above is the problem, try forcing restart your devices to get rid of this problem. To do this, simply hold down the power button and home button until you see the Power Off slide. Go ahead and swipe it to the right. Once they are turned off, you can go ahead and turn them back on.

3. Sign out of iCloud on All Your Devices

If that doesn't work, try signing out of iCloud on all your devices, then signing back in. To do this, simply go to Settings, click on iCloud and you will see the Sign Out option.

For your Mac, go to System Preference, click on iCloud and select the Sign Out option.

At least one of the solutions above should work for you. If none does, try contacting Apple Support so they can help you identify the problem and fix it.

Top 5 iOS Transfer: Transfer Files Between iPhones, PCs, & iTunes 2019

So how can we do so?

Here we take how to export files from iOS device to PC, iTunes or other device for example.

Step 1: Download and install TunesMate. Connect your device to computer.

Step 2: On the left, choose the file type. All the files of this type will be shown on the right.

Step 3: Check the files you want to export. Tap “Export to” button and choose where you want to export.

Now, no software is 100% perfect, so of course there are going to be some pros and cons to consider. Namely:

Pros

Make it easy to import and export files.

Allow you to share files between your various devices and Apple IDs.

Can help you back up your files and even your contacts.

Is easier to use and support more file types than iTunes.

It also supports ePub and PDF.

Contacts can be backed up, restored and duplicate contacts can be found out and deleted.

It supports the latest iOS version.

Cons

iTunes already provides a lot of features such as backing up your data, so TunesMate may seem a bit redundant in some of its aspects.

It costs a bit of money, while iTunes is free. (But it provides some features fro free trial)

Top 2 PodTrans

PodTrans offers an extremely easy to use interface that is supported on both Mac and Windows. Even if you’re not extremely computer literate and are hesitant to mess around with your device’s files, PodTrans makes it easy. It even has a one-click transfer function to make things as seamless as possible.

Pros

Simple interface.

Quick data transfer.

Makes it easy to organize data.

Cons

Perhaps too simple for those are looking for more functionality.

Is “freemium” software. You will be up-sold to paid software that has similar functionality.

Top 3 iMazing

iMazing is software that’s been in development for many years. It was designed to do what iTunes won’t and to fill in a lot of the gaps in functionality that Apple left wide open. You can manage your photos, music, videos, contacts and more. You can also freely transfer your data between your devices and your PC.

Pros

You can back up your iPhone via USB and WIFI.

You can put music on your device that you didn’t necessarily buy through iTunes.

iMazing is extremely feature rich and has a long history. (It was formerly called DiskAid.)

Cons

Has perhaps too many features and may not be simple enough.

Might be too hard to use for someone who isn’t tech savvy.

While iMazing is free, iMazing 2, which has a lot of the best features, is not.

It does not support to transfer iOS data to iTunes library.

Top 4 CopyTrans

With the CopyTrans file manager, you can transfer just about any sort of file from iPhone, iPod, or iPad to your computer. You can restore your iTunes library easily as well as back up all of the files on your devices. It’s a good supplement to iTunes as well as something of a replacement.

Pros

Works with a wide variety of files.

Can copy your iPhone to your iTunes library.

Can back up all of your files.

Cons

Some people complain of technical problems with CopyTrans.

Can affect the function of iTunes playlists.

It only supports the Windows computer.

It does not support to transfer files between different iOS devices.

Its interface is not friendly for users to use.

Top 5 SynciOS

As the name implies, this is software that lets you download, import, and export all kinds of files to and from your device. It also helps you back up files and manage your playlists and albums.

Pros

You can make playlists without messing up your library.

Easy to use.

It supports to transfer notes.

Cons

It is not available to transferring app data and games from one iDevice to another.

It does not support to back up or transferring apps on iOS 9 and later version.

So if you’re thinking of downloading some iOS data transfer apps, consider the ones listed above. File transfer for iOS doesn’t have to be hard, and chances are that you can find something that will work for you.Sponsor ads:

Retrieve Deleted iPhone Texts via iTunes Backup 2019

Retrieve Deleted iPhone Texts via iTunes Backup

It may be the most effective way to get your messages back, but it is not always a guarantee that you will restore them. You also can't selectively restore just the messages you need. But it is still worth a try if you have a backup. Here's how to do it.

Step 1. Connect the iPhone with the PC you have synchronized your data on.

Step 2. Open iTunes and you can see your iPhone appear. Select your iPhone and choose "Restore Backup...".

Step 3. Now you can check if the deleted text messages are on your iPhone messages app now.

Disadvantages of using iTunes to restore backup

Can’t view all the content of a backup which may cause you to choose the incorrect one which does not contain what you need.

You cannot recover data selectively which means you have to restore everything including some unnecessary data.

Once you complete a full restore, all of your current data and settings on your device will be replaced.

This method is only workable if you’ve already made a backup, so if you haven’t done it already you cannot use this way.
