Coolpad announced a new brand and the lightest 5-inch smartphone

Coolpad announced an all new smartphone brand at the press conference in Beijing yesterday – the IVVI. This new brand is set to target the higher end of the market of which the original Coolpad brand failed to get a share. According to Coolpad, the IVVI subsidiary will be operated independently in marketing, branding, and financing. Their vision is to make IVVI the most fashionable smartphone brand in China.

The first IVVI smartphone – the IVVI K1 was released right after the introduction of this new brand. Measured at 142×71×5.9mm, the IVVI K1 only weighs 110g, and is currently the lightest 5-inch smartphone in the world. The handset sports a 5-inch IPS display at the resolution of 1280*720, and is powered by the 64-digit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor. It also features a 8MP rear-facing camera and 2,000mAh Li-Po battery. The touchscreen is made of the 3rd generation of Gorilla glass, which has super strong resistance to scratches.
